Context

The documentation section needs structural improvements and content additions to better reflect the full Project Mycelium ecosystem.

Changes Required

1. Remove Society section

Society is not being pursued currently. Remove from docs registry and delete the 3 markdown files (society/intro.md, society/products.md, society/pricing.md).

2. Remove VDC section

VDC is no longer a separate offering. Salvage the broader cloud framing from VDC architecture content into the expanded Cloud section before removing.

3. Reorder: Technical Specs above Cloud

Move Technical Specs higher in the docs navigation — it provides the big-picture architecture that should come before individual product sections.

4. Add overall introduction

New introductory section at the top of the docs covering:

  • What is Project Mycelium
  • The ecosystem at a glance (Network, Cloud, Hero, Economics)
  • How the docs are structured
  • Quick links to each section

5. Add Hero section

New docs section based on the Hero website content (created by Emre). Three pages:

  • Introduction — "An internet that belongs to you", the problem, the shift
  • Features — Hero v1 capabilities (Private Communication, Personal Cloud, HeroZero, HeroBooks, VPN, Personal Agent)
  • Architecture — 3-layer model (Personal Compute, Mycelium Network, Personal Agent)

Source material: Hero website HTML files.

6. Expand Cloud beyond Kubernetes

Currently Cloud docs only cover the Kubernetes marketplace. Expand to include:

  • High-level overview of the marketplace (Compute, Nodes, Applications, Gateways, Human Energy Services)
  • Sovereignty model (how it differs from traditional SaaS)
  • Keep existing k8s docs as a subsection

Keep marketplace info generic/high-level — avoid hardcoding specific prices or tier numbers that will change. Link to the live marketplace for current details.

7. Enrich Economics with conceptual content from staging hub

The www_migrate_mycelium repo has richer economics content than the current docs. Add conceptual info:

  • Utilization marketplace model (vs old proof-of-capacity)
  • How slices work conceptually
  • Burning mechanism explained
  • Self-hosting is free

Keep it structural — avoid hardcoding specific dollar amounts, tier prices, or conversion rates. Link to the hub/calculator for live numbers.

Proposed New Structure

1. Introduction (NEW)
2. Hero (NEW)
3. Technical Specs (MOVED up)
4. Cloud (EXPANDED)
5. Network (unchanged)
6. Hosters (unchanged)
7. Economics (UPDATED)
